SHAPE at Afro Plus Fest 2026 Recap

This past weekend, the SHAPE team attended Afro Pus Fest to host a vendor booth and spread awareness about our mission as a nonprofit organization. Located at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, Afro Plus Fest is considered North America’s largest Afro-Caribbean-Hiphop festival, drawing an estimated 120,000 people from across the world to the event.
Featuring headlining artists like Wizkid, Odeal, Davido, Chief Keef, Lil Baby, and many more, the vibes at the Afro Plus Fest were high, and the crowd was vibrant. The event almost got rained out on the first day due to a severe thunderstorm, but luckily the skies cleared up and it didn’t stop the attendees from enjoying themselves.
At the SHAPE booth, we were selling a wide variety of our merchandise, from SHAPE tees to our branded fingerboards as well as our new line of traditional African wear made in collaboration with Xtiantus Official from Nigeria. Alongside selling merch to promote our cause, we were also offering free skate lessons to anybody interested in learning how to ride a skateboard at Afro Plus Fest. It’s safe to say we had a lot of fun while running the booth.
We also networked with other organizations as well as spread the word about our upcoming Shape In Motion Art Benefit happening on October 2nd, 2026 at the French Embassy.
There were many other vendors selling a mix of traditional African wear as well as modern streetwear, and the food options were amazing, with everything from Jamaican oxtail stew to Nigerian jollof rice being offered.
All in all, Afro Plus Fest was a great time for the SHAPE team and we are glad we showed up, represented, and made connections along the way.
